Although Curia is known for the thermal waters, the curiosity about this building, an art deco palace from the 20’s, (and mum!), were the main reasons for a stay here. The feel is a bit museum like, specially the common areas such as the lobby and the restaurant, an impressive well-preserved art deco salon! You can actually go back in time here.
The rooms have modern facilities though, and all the comfort, preserving some classy furniture details. The employees are extremely nice and you can enjoy a modern spa and a really cool vintage pool.
The location is quite strategic, Curia is very small and quiet, but just a few kms away you can reach two really interesting and alive cities, Coimbra and Aveiro. This destination is also advisable for foodies, with good wine and some gastronomic delicacies not suitable for vegetarians.


A Curia é conhecida pelas suas águas termais, mas foi a curiosidade de conhecer este edifício, um palácio art deco dos anos 20, (e um passeio com a mãe!) as razões da estadia. O Palace tem um pouco de museu e permite saborear uma viagem no tempo, sobretudo nas áreas comuns como o lobby e a sala restaurante, um impressionante salão art deco extremamente bem preservado!
Os quartos estão modernizados conservando alguma mobília de época para maior requinte. Os empregados são muito simpáticos e o hotel dispõe de um spa e da 2ª mais antiga piscina do país!
De resto, a Curia tem uma localização estratégica, apenas a alguns kms de Coimbra e Aveiro, o que faz deste local um ponto de partida interessante para conhecer o centro de Portugal.
